Zara Jo's Rhubarb Eau de parfum perfume review

Zara Jo's Rhubarb Eau de parfum perfume review

So recently I got a Zara Perfume which is part of the Jo Malone collaboration; I got this one because I loved the scent of it with the scent of rhubarb, citrus and vetiver notes to it!

Rhubarb heaven. It's all I could smell throughout and I wouldn't want it any other way!
Hermès Eau de Rhubarbe Ecarlate addicts can enjoy this fragrance as it's kinda similar, yet for a fraction of the price.
It's very elegant and comforting. Go for it.

Bareminerals Complexion Rescue

Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue

I bought Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue in the shade number three Buttercup; this by far the best foundation I have ever used, I have used in past Estée Lauder and Mac for many years, but as I have gotten older, I found I did not want to wear a foundation's so I think this product is just what I need now, it blurs my imperfections, has a lovely radiant glow on to my skin, lightweight and moisturizing too! Well worth every penny

I got the new Glossier Ultralip lipstick in the color Portrait which is a pinky shade it's very moisturizing to the lips I think!

I got the Cloud Paint Duo in the color Beam which is a soft peach that is a beautiful cream when going on to the skin and then goes into a powder when you blend it onto the skin; I also got Puff which is a beautiful light cool pink!

10 BEAUTY PRODUCTS I’LL ALWAYS REPURCHASE.

10 BEAUTY PRODUCTS I’LL ALWAYS REPURCHASE.

My returning favourites over the years…

For the most part, I always think repurchasing products is slightly pointless – there’s so many brilliant brands out there, products being released daily, why not branch out and try something new? But even so, there’s some staples even I cannot be without!

These are my trusty tried-and-tested favourites, the picks I come back to time and time again. I’m rarely without them, often placing orders when I’m halfway through so I have a backup on hand when I reach the end of the bottle or tube.
Some of these I’ve repurchased five or six times, always going back because I know they work for me – and you know what they say, if it ain’t broke…

Beauty Pie Super Healthy Skin Body Creme; This is a relatively new addition to this list, but I’m already on my second tub in under six months. I am obsessed with this. I have to admit I’m a little slap-dash with applying body lotion, often hurriedly applying whatever comes to hand so I can get dressed and on with my day. But this has changed the game for me!
Not only does it smell delicious, it applies beautifully – seriously, this formula has broken the mould! I think my favourite thing about it is the way it sinks in to damp skin after a bath/shower, without lathering up or turning white on the skin. It’s honestly such a wonderful body cream, my skin feels (and smells) so lovely after use.

La Roche Posay Toleriane Face Mist; I talk about this mist a lot, it’s completely saved my skin. For reference, my complexion is often super dehydrated and prone to blemishes but it cannot abide anything heavy. It’s a very fine balance trying to get my routine right, but I’ve found this mist gives my skin a dose of moisture that means I don’t need to rely on heavy creams to get my fix. My skin feels quenched but never clogged.
I sort of sandwich it between products, applying it on to cleansed skin, then following it up with my serum, and then spritzing on another dose. It also works wonders over masks and makeup too.

Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Serum; Of course, my numero uno made it in to this list. I reckon I’ve been through 6 bottles of this since I discovered it, my skin adores it! It’s light enough to not break me out, but gives enough hydration so I don’t feel the need to use a moisturiser for the most part (I have been finding I need a little extra moisture lately!).
When my skin breaks out, I get quite bad scarring that takes forever to heal, so I like that this also helps to brighten the skin and fade the marks. It’s a wonderful product, I use it day and night!

Lush The Olive Branch; If you know, you know! The Olive Branch has been a regular in my shower since I was a teenager, there really is no other scent like it. They’ve changed the formula recently so it’s more of a gel (it was previously quite watery), which is ideal in terms of texture but I do find the scent isn’t quite as prominent. Still, I’ve got the Pansy body lotion so I can be a bergamot-scented dream regardless!

NARS Sheer Glow; If I had to pick one foundation to use for the rest of my life, it would be NARS Sheer Glow. Again, I’ve been through bottles and bottles and bottles of this. They should really bring out a supersize version so I can save on packaging!
If you’ve never tried this, don’t be put off by the name – the coverage is great, and the finish is beautiful. Soft, dewy and capable of camouflaging everything from dark circles to acne. Me love.

Oskia Renaissance Mask; The Holy Grail of face masks! Perhaps my favourite mask of all time, this little wonder worker smoothes and brightens the complexion while also helping with congestion and sorting out breakouts too. I always reach for it when my skin needs some attention, it really is a bit of a miracle product! I love using it on Sunday evenings so my skin feels fresh for the week ahead.

Byredo Mojave Ghost; Ahh my wedding fragrance! I adore this scent, the first time I wore this was the first time I thought a scent was just perfect for me. I used to want to save it for special occasions but now I’ve just embraced it as my scent and I wear it most days, it’s just such a special fragrance that I love so much.

Laura Mercier Illuminating Primer*; Another product I use daily, this hydrating hero is the first step in my makeup routine. I find it helps to blur imperfections and keep my skin feeling supple throughout the day, and it makes my foundation work just that little bit harder too. I’m on my second tube of this reformulated version, but I was a big fan of the OG primers too!

Glossier Cloud Paint; Who doesn’t love a bit of Cloud Paint eh? The creamy formula is perky skin in a tube! I’ve tried quite a few of the shades now but my favourites are probably Dusk, Beam and Storm. A little goes a long way, so they last forever and they’re great for travelling with too (not that anyone cares about that right now!).

BareMinerals Foundation Stick*; I adore bareMinerals as a brand, I don’t think I’ve ever tried a product of theirs that I haven’t loved. The Foundation Stick is a long time fave of mine, I use it as a base on WFH days and at the weekends, and sometimes as a concealer when my skin needs a little extra coverage. It’s blends seamlessly, is easy to apply and covers all!

So while I’m all for being adventourous, trying new brands and discovering products, there are some staples I’ll never be able to part from! Have you tried any of these?

NEW HQ Still of Steven Cree in “A Discovery Of Witches”

NEW HQ Still of Steven Cree in “A Discovery Of Witches”

In present day Oxford, there is another vicious vampire murder.

Marcus tracks down the only tangible evidence of Matthew and Diana’s journey
to 1590: miniature Elizabethan portraits of the pair.

Though his attempts to buy them outright are unsuccessful, he is totally charmed by auction
house employee Phoebe Taylor.

There is an immediate spark between them and he asks her out.

At Sept-Tours, Ysabeau tells Sarah and Em that the miniatures signal that Matthew and Diana arrived in 1590 safely.

Gerbert and Knox scheme together to further their search for the Book of
Life, and Sophie goes into labour.

A worried Sarah asks Em to not do any more higher magic, it’s far too dangerous.

Phoebe and Marcus’s date is interrupted by Domenico, who is sniffing around the de Clermonts to find the perpetrator of the vampire murders in Oxford.

Marcus and Phoebe nevertheless end up spending the night together.

On the outskirts of Sept-Tours, Gerbert confronts Ysabeau about harbouring witches.

Em secretly continues to try summoning Rebecca.

At Marcus’s flat, Phoebe finds evidence of Marcus’s immortality.

He confesses that he is a vampire, but she doesn’t believe him and breaks off their romance.

The next day, Baldwin comes to see a dejected Marcus to suggest he takes over as
Grand Master of the Knights of Lazarus, since Marcus is failing to make the
most of the role.

Going to see Ysabeau for advice, Marcus is told that he is
a carrier of blood rage – the violent affliction Matthew passed down to him.

FACE HALO

FACE HALO

Bursting onto the beauty scene in May 2017, Face Halo has become an industry leader in the pursuit for sustainable, skin-friendly make up removers (psst, if you haven't ditched your face wipes yet, this is a sign). With a life that left little time for her beauty rituals (think: three kids, including a set of twins), the founder of Face Halo - Lizzy Pike - set out to create an effortless way to speed up her end-of-day routine. It just so happened that Lizzy had 15 years of experience in the realm of fibre technology, which inspired her to develop these effective, non-toxic, environmentally friendly and cost-efficient make up-removing heroes. Ready to make the switch?

I use it just with water and it takes off everything, even multiple coats of Benefit They're Real Mascara (whoever used it knows how much of a pain it is take off). No pulling or tugging, just need to pass few times with a very wet Face Halo (not more times than with cotton pads and makeup remover, at least for me). The secret is to wet the Face Halo really well and then don't press too much of the water out if any at all. Don't follow the YouTube reviews where they press all the water out and leave it slightly damp so the won't look a mess on camera, leave this baby very wet. I always double cleanse so I wouldn't use only this, I always wash my face afterward, but there is definitely no makeup left. It washes quickly by hand and then I hang it to dry in the bathroom. I keep a bar of laundry soap at hand and it doesn't take more than 2 minutes of my time. Very very very recommended.

Essie Autumn Nail Favourites

Essie Autumn Nail Favourites

Essie is one of my favourite nail vanish brands and whether you're a newbie to the brand or a long time wearer, I feel like there are always more Essie shades to discover. Today I wanted to share five of my current Autumn go-to shades and hopefully they'll inspire your next manicure too.

The lightest of the bunch is Ladylike*, a nail vanish colour that I have re-purchased multiple times. The classic mauve hue looks pretty throughout the whole year, but there's something about this shade that makes me think of the colder months. When I don't want to wear anything dark in the Autumn, then this is my go-to as it isn't as light as a nude. It has great longevity and can withstand quite a lot without chipping.

Angora Cardi is not only one of my favourite Autumn nail polish shades, but it's also been named most popular nail polish on Pinterest, so it's safe to say it's loved by many. It's got a deep raspberry tone which is a great fail-safe when I'm not sure what colour to go for.

I was debating putting Fishnet Stockings* in this round up as although I love a red for this time of the year, it is a lot brighter than the other shades on offer. For me, I enjoy a pillar box red when I want something striking, but sometimes I want something a little more low key. Fishnet Stockings still has that classic red look, but as it's a little deeper (but still rich!), this will always be my go-to red pick.

As you can see from the photos, Sole Mate and Bordeaux are quite similar in the bottle, however one has a deep plum hue and the other has a red tint. Sole Mate would be perfect for anybody that loves a burgundy nail vanish shade, but wants to go even darker! I personally always reach for it at this time of the year as it gives me Halloween vibes with it's deep colour that can almost appear black at times.

Last up we have Bordeaux* which is the super sexy deep red that I love to wear when throughout Autumn and into the colder months. It looks darker in the bottle than it does on the fingernails, in fact, it's pretty close to what Fishnet Stockings look like, so people often pass it by, but I would 10/10 recommend. I've been re-purchasing it for years and I'm glad to have a fresh new bottle in my collection.

What are your favourite Autumn Essie nail vanish shades?

My Very First Pat Mcgrath Lipstick

My Very First Pat Mcgrath Lipstick

So for my birthday I got my very first Pat Mcgrath lipstick which is part of  lip fetish collection  and I got 524 passion flower.

Pat McGrath Passion Flower Lip Fetish Sheer Colour Lip Balm

Pat McGrath Passion Flower is a slightly warm-toned, light-medium coral with a natural finish. It is a permanent lip balm that retails for £35.00 and contains 0.12 oz.
Pat McGrath Passion Flower Lip Fetish Sheer Colour Lip Balm (£35.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a medium pink with warm undertones and a natural sheen. It appeared like a lighter, peachy-coral in the tube, but it was significantly pinker swatched as well as on, and it left a strong, pink stain behind (on my arm as well as my lips). It had semi-sheer pigmentation that applied evenly and smoothly across my lips. It had a lightweight consistency that was lightly creamy but not thin or too slippery on my lips, though it wasn't as smoothing as other shades in the range. The colour stayed on well for four hours and was hydrating while I wore it.
The new Sheer Colour finish on the Lip Fetish Lip Balm formula is designed to have a "tease of colour" with a "lightweight veil of hydration." The balm has a smooth consistency that glided across my lips without tugging but did not feel overly slippery or wet like some balm-like formulations can.
I felt like this made it easier to apply them evenly and had them wear decently--anywhere from two to four hours--and I found that a couple of them stained my lips lightly (most notably, Passion Flower looked significantly pinker on my lips, and it also stained my hand pink when I tried swatching it again to verify!).
I found the formula to be moderately moisturising with coverage that ranged from sheer to medium with the deeper shades having more noticeable colour and coverage. I didn't detect any scent or taste to these.

Pat McGrath Passion Flower Lip Fetish Sheer Colour Lip Balm
This alluringly addictive clear balm is the captivating covert key to a killer kiss. It repairs, restores and replenishes, keeping the lips sensuously smooth and leaving them with a dewy, opaline finish. Luxuriate in kissably soft lips with this ecstasy-inducing balm.

O'Keeffe's Lip Repair Overnight

O'Keeffe's Lip Repair Overnight

I’d been suffering with chapped lips no matter what lip balm I used. Thought I’d try this, the lady on the counter said it was amazing, and she wasn’t wrong. In no time at all my lips seemed to ‘heal’ and look and feel so much better. I even managed to wear lipstick the same evening for a night out without the worry that it wouldn’t apply properly. This is amazing!
