ON MY HOMEWARE WISHLIST.

ON MY HOMEWARE WISHLIST.

You may have noticed we’ve been getting a lot of mundane work done in the house recently, like getting our floors re-sanded and our walls plastered, the sort of stuff that screams “yep we bought a rundown Victorian tenement!”
Instead of getting too bogged down about the unglamorous elements of being a home-owner, I thought I’d give my living room a little bit of a mood lift with some inspiring new colours and textures…
I’ve always been a fan of an easy breezy laid-back, warm and welcoming aesthetic and this La Redoute Ashwin Wool Rug adds a splash of colour and a bit of boho-chic with the iconic Berber pattern, I can imagine it looking lovely under our soft grey sofa.
I love the feeling of togetherness a living space can bring and I’m forever adorning it with cute objects, sentimental knick-knacks and collectibles. I found a few playful pieces including this adorable art inspired lampshade from Frances Costelloe, I already have this in print form but I feel like the lampshade will complete the look without being overkill!
I also spied this rose-fringed lamp from Oliver Bonas and I’m almost certain I need it…
I’ve also been in the market for a replacement sideboard for a while now and spotted this dreamy bamboo number from Maisons Du Monde. I totally fell in love with the mix of white and wood, and it means we can finally replace our current cabinets which are looking a little past their best.
Keeping with the SoCo theme, I am totally celebrating rattan revival this year – I’m officially obsessed! Rattan and wicker furniture brings an abundance of natural elements and beaut textures into a space and sits so perfectly alongside a lot of the furniture and accessories that I already own. I find it so easy to style too, it always looks so cosy and homely!
Lastly, I’m in the market for a new vinyl stand or storage unit at the minute – I feel like vinyls are an absolute feast for the eyes and I would really like to show our (okay, Jordan’s…) collection off a little more. At the moment our small but humble stash is sort of tucked behind our sofa and I feel like we owe it to the records to have them stored and on display a little more carefully!
Do you have any tips for storing records? How do you like to style your living space?
