Fuerteventura Trip
On Wednesday 11th November 2015 we flew from Gatwick Airport to Fuerteventura. I have never been there before, although I have been to Lanzarote and Tenerife. The flight took 4 hours, which is not too bad.
We got to our hotel, the Barcelo Castillo Beach Resort after a 10 minutes taxi ride. We got a semi-detached bungalow with a patio area. The gardens and paths of the resort were lovely. The weather was fantastic, it was hot every day.
We had to walk a long way to the restaurant for breakfast and dinner, at least a kilometre. The food was ok, but the puddings were great.
We went to the town to explore the little shops, we got food for lunches at the Hiperdino supermarkets and Spar which was in a shopping centre. It was not a mall, because it was too small. The walk to the shopping centre was along the sea front, it was quite far away, but it was nice.
One day we went on a free bus to the Oasis Park in the South of the island. It was great to see and get up close to the large variety of animals there. We saw albino wallabies, they were so cute. There were loads of camels and you could take a ride, but I did not really fancy it. I saw the sea lion show, it was excellent and quite amusing. The parrot show was really for young children, I thought it was boring. We went to the Botanical Garden on the Safari Bus. There was hundreds of different cacti, but not many other plants. It was interesting, but we did not stay long as it was very hot and the garden paths were very steep.
We went back home to the UK on Wednesday 18th November. I wished we had stay longer, the weather was so good and we came back to a horrible weather.
